Job Title: Executive Director

Location: Circle of Care Center for Families, Valley, Alabama

Organization: Chambers Co Council for Neglected & Dependent Children & Youth, Inc., DBA: Circle of Care Center for Families (Family Resource Center), a sales-tax exempt, tax-deductible 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Position Summary: The Executive Director of the Circle of Care Center for Families is responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial management of the organization. This role requires a dynamic leader who is passionate about supporting families and children in the Chambers County, Alabama and surrounding areas. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and community partners to advance the mission and goals of the Circle of Care Center for Families. The vision of the Circle of Care is to create positive change across generations. Everyone should have access to the quality services and caring support necessary to navigate life’s challenges. The Circle of Care develops pathways that educate, equip, and empower individuals and families to thrive. The Executive Director answers to and is supervised by the Board of Directors through individual meetings with the Board President as well as through reporting, presentation, and discussion at board meetings.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the mission and vision established by the Circle of Care Board of Directors.
  • Provide inspirational leadership and direction to staff and ensure the continued development and management of a professional and efficient organization.
  • Establish effective decision-making processes that will enable the Circle of Care Center for Families to achieve its long- and short-term goals and objectives.
  • Participate in no less than 15 hours of continuing development/in-service training annually regarding topics such as, but not limited to: non-profit CEO training, organizational leadership, social services, organizational finances, human resources, and other position related topics, such as technology, productivity, organization systems, etc.

Fundraising and Financial Management:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure financial support from individuals, foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Oversee the preparation of the annual budget and audit as well as manage financial performance to ensure financial stability and sustainability.
  • Ensure that the organization operates within budget guidelines and maintains sound financial practices.

Program Development and Oversight:

  • Oversee the design, marketing, delivery, quality, and data collection of programs and services.
  • Ensure that all programs and services are evidence-based, effective, available, accessible, and aligned with the needs of the community.
  • Evaluate the impact of programs and services, and use data to inform and improve future initiatives.
  • Ensure accuracy of paperwork, grant reports, and documentation in various in required systems and databases prior to deadlines for the Center and its programs.
  • Identify critical resource gaps and develop strategies for closing those gaps

Community and Public Relations:

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson for the Circle of Care Center for Families, representing the organization to the community, media, and other stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, donors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensures community awareness regarding Circle of Care
  • Advocate for policies and practices that support families and children at the local, state,
    and national levels.
  • Serve as a leader in the Alabama Network of Family Resource Centers

Board Relations:

  • Oversees compliance of and works closely with the Board of Directors to develop and implement organizational policies and procedures that comply with legal, ANFRC, and various funder requirements.
  • Assists the Chair/President of the Board of the directors in organizing information for and the hosting of meetings of the Board of Directors.
  • Provide regular reports to the Board on organizational performance, financial status, and strategic initiatives.
  • Assist in the recruitment, orientation, and development of Board members.

Perform all other duties as needed for the efficient operation of the Center


  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field and several years of related experience in social services delivery at the supervisory or director level.
  • Proven track record in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse groups of people, including staff,
    board members, donors, and community partners.
  • Able to motivate and hold staff accountable as they build relationships, set goals, and
    deliver on commitments.
  • Fluent English speaking and writing skills required.
  • Fluent Spanish speaking and writing skills preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of and support for family strengthening/family preservation/family support
    model of service provision.
  • Strong computer/technology skills
  • High ethical standards
  • No felony criminal record or history of founded child or adult abuse/neglect.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Position Details:

  • Full-Time
  • 40 hours per week
  • Reports to Board of Directors
  • Salary Range: $65,000 – $85,000
  • 403(b) retirement plan, health insurance, and additional benefits
  • No provision is made for payment of accumulated leave upon separation from
    employment with the Center.
