Shields & Shoes Project

At the Circle of Care, we are excited to announce a new partnership with local first responders called the Shields & Shoes Project.

Many of the children in our community are in need of quality shoes. The Shields & Shoes Project provides quality shoes to area children in a way that prevents stigma or ridicule.

Who is behind it:

We recently had several first responders contact us about the need for quality shoes for many of our area kids. They said that it’s something they see regularly and they were looking for a way to do something about it. Together we developed a strategy and formed the Shields and Shoes Project.

Together our mission is to both identify the needs of these children, raise the funds to purchase quality shoes, and provide shoes to area children in such a way that they do not experience teasing or ridicule.

Who does what:

The funds collected from donations will be managed through the Circle of Care. This will allow for donations to be tax-deductible and the purchase of shoes to be sales tax exempt, making the most of the donations we possibly can.

First responders already identify the need. Now they will be charged with dispersing the shoes in a way that will protect the children from being teased or ridiculed.

Why this project:

We strongly believe that the best way to give back to the community is to pave the way for the success of our youth. Children in our area not having decent shoes is simply unacceptable.

We encourage you to partner with us by spreading the word about the project, sharing with friends and family in all kinds of ways, and by donating to this great cause.
